Ingenio de Comunicación

Ingenio de Comunicación, Contenidos y Divertinajes is the meeting-place and workplace of a large and experienced multidisciplinary team led by Eva Orúe, a journalist, and Sara Gutiérrez, a doctor and journalist.

In the full and active professional career of Eva Orúe, we may highlight  her work as foreign correspondent in Paris, London and Moscow (recognized by the Prize of the International Press Club for the best work by a foreign correspondent in 1994), her regular appearances in programmes of Antena 3, TeleMadrid and Punto Radio and also her intense work as a columnist; in that of Sara Gutiérrez, her specialization in ophthalmology and her research in Pigmentary Retinosis (Special Prize of the University of Oviedo, 1995), her experience as a writer of medical texts and her frequent collaboration with communication media, both written and audiovisual.

Together, they are authors of the following books: Rusia en la encrucijada (Espasa-Calpe, 1997); Historias de miopes (Ediciones del Prado, 1999); Rutas del Prerrománico asturiano (Jaguar, 1999); Zaragoza (Jaguar, 1999); Locas por el fútbol (Temas de Hoy, 2001); Mujeres contra la guerra (Belacqua, 2003); and Padres e hijos ( Ediciones B, 2005).

As sole author, Sara Gutiérrez has produced: Retinosis Pigmentarias. Clasificación y tratamiento (Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de Oviedo, 1995);  and  La dermatología a través de los siglos (Momento Médico Iberoamericana, 2007); in addition, together with the chef Manuel Gutiérrez Torre, she has published Cocina para embarazadas (Jaguar, 1999).

For her part, Eva Orúe has published La segunda oportunidad (Temas de Hoy, 2003).

Sara Gutiérrez

Doctor of Medicine and Surgery, Ophhalmologist.

Her undergraduate dissertation (Oviedo, 1986): “Medical treatment of the senile cataract. Clinical trial of the  Bendazac Lysin Salt” was marked as outstanding, and her doctoral thesis (Oviedo, 1994): “Pigmentary Retinosis:a comparative study of methodology and results of treatment in Spain and the Soviet Union” was unanimously awarded Cum Laude. In addition, she received the Special Prize for Medicine of the University of Oviedo (1995).

She practised as a General Practitioner in various Health Centres in Asturias (1987-1988) before specializing in ophthalmology (Jarkov, Ukraine [1989-1992] and Moscow, Russia [1992-1995]), that qualification being validated in Spain in 1996. She is an established civil servant (Medical Health Corps, Number Two by public examination [BOE 20-11-90], on voluntary sabbatical), and acted as advisor of the Asturian Association of Pigmentary Retinosis Sufferers (1993-1995).

She is the author of various scientific articles published in specialised reviews (Archivos de la Sociedad Española de Oftalmología, Revista Oftalmológica de  Odesa, etc.) and has participated in various congresses of ophthalmology, both as a lecturer (Oviedo [1987]; Santander [1991]; Járkov [1992]; Seville [1992]; Havana [1994]) and as an assistant (Lisbon [1988]; St. Petersburg [1993]; Oviedo [1994]).

She has also been a lecturer in various conference-debates on Pigmentary Retinosis (1991-1995); in the summer course of the University of Alicante “Science and Journalism, compatible worlds?” (Cocentaina, 1998); in the Fourth National Congress of Computing in Health (Madrid, 2001); in the First International Telemedicine Congress (Madrid, 2001);  and in the Congress of Digital Journalism (Huesca, 2004).

From 2000 until 2005 she was Medical Manager at J.J. Software de Medicina, where she was responsible for co-ordinating the development of products intended for use in continuing medical training by internet (including liaising with medical companies to prepare collaboration agreements, with opinion leaders and with accreditation committees), was the subdirector of the company magazine Technoclinical Times; and was responsible for designing and controlling  the content (medical and journalistic) of MEDifusion.com, and for the training of the corresponding medical and journalistic teams.

Throughout all of these years she has made numerous journalistic contributions, and her signature has appeared on articles and interviews published by:Tiempo, Jano, Viajar, Playboy, El Economista, Perfiles, La Voz de Asturias, Grandes Viajes, Jano, El Médico, Qué leer, DeViajes o El País Semanal. In Paris, she advised the company publishing Marie Claire on the launch of its Russian edition (1997).

In the period 1999 – 2000, she was a radio producer in the reporting section of the programme: A toda radio de Onda Cero. In 2003 she participated in the launch of Divertinajes.com, where she was initially responsible for two sections: Los viajes and Empeño vital (health section). In the summer of 2006, she was sub-director of the evening programme of Punto Radio, where she was also responsible for a health section that was broadcast three times a week.

She is a member of the Spanish Society of Ophthalmology and of the Spanish Association of Medical Writers and Artists.

Since January, 2006, she has been co-director of the company Ingenio de Comunicación, Contenidos y Divertinajes.

Eva Orúe

Eva Orúe holds a degree in Information Sciences from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. In 1982 she began as producer of Hora Punta (Radio Cadena Española), who Luis del Olmo, who a year later incorporated her into his team of Protagonistas, where she remained until 1988. She combined her work on this program with freelance contributions for TV3 (Piano Bar, with Jordi Estadella and Manuel Vázquez Montalbán) and the magazine Playboy and Don Balón.

She was a correspondent of Cadena COPE in London (1988-1989) and París (1989-1991), at the same time contributing to the magazines Tribuna, Viajar, and Playboy; the newspapers El Sol, El Correo Español, El Mundo, and La Gaceta de los Negocios; Radio Nederland; and the press agency OTR Press.

In September 1992, after a sabbatical period at the University of Boulder (Colorado), she joined Onda Cero Radio as subdirector of the morning newsprogram Al día, directed by Javier González Ferrari. Nine months later, she was sent to Moscow, where she remained for three years as a correspondent, before returning again to Paris (1996), cities from which she contributed to El Correo Español, Avui, El Mundo, and Viajar.

On her return to Spain, she began a traveling phase during which she contributed to the program La Rosa de los Vientos, by Juan Antonio Cebrián (Onda Cero Radio) and the magazines Tiempo, Viajar, España desconocida, and Paisajes. Later, always as a reporter VOLANTE the entire country, she joined the team of A toda radio, by Marta Robles.

In September of 2003 she was called by Fernando Jáuregui to set in motion a digital newspaper, micanoa.com (later, diariodirecto.com), as subdirector. At the same time, she continued contributing to Onda Cero Radio (Esta boca es mía, with Carlos Alsina), Antena 3 Televisión (Abierto al anochecer, with Jordi González), Localia TV (Cada mañana, with Concha Galán y Jaime Cantizano), Viajar, and Metro.

On leaving diariodirecto.com, she diversified her activities, although never losing contact with the communication media. During this period, she has been a copanelist on Protagonistas (Luis del Olmo, Onda Cero Radio); a regular participant on De la noche al día (Manolo HH, Radio Nacional de España), Espejo Público (Susanna Griso, Antena3 TV), Diario de la noche (Fernando Sánchez Dragó, TeleMadrid), Locos por Madrid (Alfredo Urdaci, Onda6); and a columnist of Público and Metro. During the summer of 2006, she directed and presented the afternoon magazine Punto Radio.

Curently, she is a regular contributor to the monthly magazine DeLibros and is a polemicist on the newsprogram De costa a costa (Punto Radio).

Since February of 2003, she directs the digital magazine Divertinajes.com.

Since January, 2006, she has been co-director of the company Ingenio de Comunicación, Contenidos y Divertinajes.
